CD34+ Hematopoietic Stem/Progenitor Cells

CD34+ hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells are a rare (0.1-0.2%) PBMC subset that can develop into any cell within the blood including red blood cells, platelets, lymphocytes and granulocytes. Mobilizations agents such as granulocyte-colony stimulating factor or Plerixafor, can increase the frequency of circulating CD34+ stem cells, allowing for greater quantities of these rare cells from a donor. Cells are sourced from healthy donors from world-renowned blood institutions using Institutional Review Board (IRB)-approved consent forms and protocols. Donors are screened for HIV-1, HIV-2, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, human T-lymphotropic virus, syphilis, Chagas and West Nile virus.
